Around Orion High School

Bad Environment 

You may have noticed that I had made a poll called “Why did you go to Orion?.” I made the options of Bad Environments, Traveling Reasons, Fresh new start, and others. Esther Hernandez-Author and Writer for The Orion Papers

Unfortunately, many people voted “Bad environment.” Which is sad to see. Even for the people who didn’t vote on the poll, I’m sure they had it unimaginably rough. It’s very somber to know that people had to flee after such damage. 

Like me and likely many others, I had a horrid school environment and I’ve witnessed scarring erudition that I never wanted to understand. I had experienced many horrible days, along with so many others I’m sure. I would like to consider Orion as a safe haven for many people. People who have come here, and have suffered so much. Orion is a place of recovery, no doubt. For some people, Orion is a place of refuge and healing.

I speak for many people who have come here from long-suffering. Ever since I started Orion in August I have noticed that I’ve grown tremendously. I’m much more social (as funny as it sounds) and more often out of my room. I'm now a reporter and editor for the school newspaper, in the student council, and was recently nominated to join the National Honor Society! For many people who aren’t so sure if Orion was the best decision, TRUST ME, you have made the right choice. 

Traveling

Many people travel from time to time, but there are some people who treat it as a lifestyle. This circumstance may not even be this Student’s choice due to sports or parents’ jobs. I rarely ever travel so I don’t know what it’s like to travel a lot. I’m sure that having an online school like Orion makes it a lot easier. Here you can interact with people that are your own age and can build many friendships for years to come. This way people can travel to any location while getting a good education and still have friends!

Fresh New Start

This section is somewhat related to a bad environment. Some may have probably had an accident or an unfortunate event that has taken place in some people’s lives. Sometimes you have to leave in order to heal. In some cases, people were in a confused and unorganized environment. Orion is a place that is organized, safe, and friendly!

Conclusion 

No matter what your reason for coming to Orion, we are so happy for you to be here! I hope this school has been good for you and not so stressful. Honestly, I hope you’ve enjoyed it so far I know that I have! I hope you have a happy high school year and hopefully I get to meet you! Until then see you next time!
