AP Microeconomics Course
AP Microeconomics is an introduction to the study of the consumers and producers that make up the economy: households, firms, governments, and community organizations. The course provides particular emphasis on the function of consumers and producers within the economic system. The course also offers analysis of the markets in which consumers and producers interact as well as non-market economics. This course has been reviewed and approved by the College Board to use the "AP" designation.
AP Physics 1 Course
AP Physics 1 honors covers all of the material outlined by the College Board as necessary to prepare students for college physics. This course is designed to acquaint learners with topics in classical and modern physics. The first part discusses topics in Newtonian mechanics including: kinematics, laws of motion, work and energy, systems of particles, momentum, circular motion, oscillations, and gravitation. The first part concludes with topics in fluid mechanics, thermal physics, and kinetic theory. The second part of the course discusses the topics of electricity and magnetism, waves and optics, and atomic and nuclear physics. The course emphasizes problem solving, and there are numerous interactive examples throughout. Learners will also gain laboratory experience through interactive lab simulations.
AP Physics 2 Course
The course provides learners with an introductory experience in the concepts and methods of physical analysis beyond mechanics, including thermodynamics, fluid physics, geometric and physical optics, electricity, magnetism, and modern physics. Building the ability to reason qualitatively and quantitatively is a primary focus, with inquiry and investigation, modeling and diagramming, symbolic algebra, unit analysis, communication and argumentation, laboratory techniques, data analysis, and integration and application of concepts as emphasized skills.
